About this position

What you can expect

You are familiar with the administration of larger infrastructure environments, especially the administration of Linux servers and the middleware components running on them. Together with other colleagues in the team you are responsible for the operation, as well as analysis, troubleshooting and further development of the systems. Ideally, you have a sound knowledge of the various Linux derivatives and middleware components. You will be responsible for the operation (incl. monitoring, updates, documentation and configuration) of Linux servers and will supervise the installation and configuration of the servers. In addition, you will independently work out solutions for any kind of IT requirements in the software as well as in the hardware area with a focus on Linux servers 

What you should bring to the table

  • You have a degree in a technical field (e.g. computer science, business informatics, information technology, etc.), have completed training as an IT specialist (system integration), or have a comparable IT education
  • You have professional experience as a system administrator in the Linux environment (e.g. Red Hat, SLES, Debian, Ubuntu Server) appropriate to the position and ideally have the appropriate certifications  
  • You have expert knowledge in the area of cluster technology (e.g. Pacemaker), virtualization, configuration management (e.g. Ansible, SaltStack) and application servers (e.g. Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Oracle Weblogic)
  • You have experience developing and operating microservice architectures using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes  
  • You like to work in a team, but you are also able to act independently
  • You have a very good command of written and spoken English
  • You are responsible and possess analytical skills as well as high intrinsic motivation, team spirit and commitment
  • Convincing communication skills and a confident appearance round off your profile
